FAQs
- What is dedicated hosting?
- With dedicated hosting, you lease a complete physical server. This server is not shared with any other users, as with Shared Hosting or a VPS.
- If I have a dedicated server with a single hard drive, and the hard drive fails, can you recover my data for me?
- We do not perform data recovery on failed hard drives. Backups are highly recommended. The same would also apply to a server with two independent hard drives, or a striped RAID.
- If my server has RAID, do I still need backups?
- Multiple hard drives protects against hardware failure, but should not be considered a backup.
- Who owns my dedicated server? Am I responsible for hardware maintenance on it?
- The server is owned and maintained by Zordio.
- Why should I get backups with my dedicated server? Isn't RAID enough?
- Zordio maintains all dedicated server hardware, but cannot be responsible for data integrity, especially in cases of failed hard drives.
- Can I upgrade my server later if I need to?
- Dedicated servers can be upgraded to another plan. However, new hardware detection, especially by Windows, may complicate this or require a new install.
